'All About Willow'
A fun introduction to the world of Salix (Willow). The program will include a demonstration of how to build a willow plant tower. Participants can take the afternoon class as well and actually build their own towers! Classes are held at Olbrich Botanical Gardens in Madison, WI. 'Rustic Willow Trellis Workshop'

'Willow Gathering 2016'
An exciting conference focusing on traditions in willow work. This years classes will focus on square work and various weaves as well as using willow bark to create vessels. The instructors for this summer's gathering are Joe Hogan from Ireland,Katherine Lewis from Washington State, Karen Tembreull from Michigan and Joanna Schanz from Iowa. The conference is centered in the Baker Village facilities at Luther College in Decorah, IA. The response has been good to this year's lineup and all of the class spaces are filled. October 13-15, 2016 (North House Folk School)Class Basket
'Willow Shopping Basket'
The is a good introductory willow basket class for those interested in trying their hand at weaving with sticks.  Participants in the class will weave a beautiful and sturdy round willow basket with an 'over the arm' handle. Class discussions will also cover willow cultivation, harvest, traditions and willow lore. For more information go to www.northhouse.org


Willowglen Gardens

For more than 20 years Willowglen's gardens have grown to support a wide variety of hardy perennial flowers, woody shrubs, and trees. These gardens are a living catalog and serve as a reference and inspiration for Lee & Lindsay in their work. They are open for viewing to those taking a class at Willowglen or visitors during the Northeast Iowa Studio Tour each October.
