This will be a rare over the fence look at Willowglens back forty. Lindsay will lead this tour over hill and dale, pointing out various woodland wildflowers common to northeast Iowa. We will also learn about woodland ecology and perhaps view a few returning wood warblers. Wear your boots. Snacks provided.

Here's your chance to learn how to make the popular Willowglen rustic plant tower with Lee and Lindsay. This is a large sturdy woven structure that, when grown with vines, adds a pillar of color to your flower borders. Participants will want to bring work gloves, hand pruners and a vehicle large enough to transport the finished tower
Join in for our annual willow weekend with Jo Campbell-Amsler. This years projects features a shallow sieve/tray and a flower gathering basket Jo designed with Willowglen in mind. As always, no prior experience weaving with willow is necessary just bring your enthusiasm and curiosity. The fees listed include all materials and instruction. Discussions each day will include information about growing and harvesting local willow and other materials.
If possible bring along small hand pruners, utility knife, awl, old bed sheet, spray bottle and sack lunch. Some tools will be available to share.
Class size is limited, so sign up early for one or both days.
This basket is designed to carry flowers in from the garden. Its a delight to make, whether you are an experienced willow weaver or trying this art for the first time. Different applications of the rim and rib placement make for an interesting weaving experience.
